Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced ex-gratia relief of two lakh rupees each from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of the kin of the dead, and 50,000 rupees each to those injured in Kollam temple fire in Kerala.<br/><br/>Mr. Modi also decided to visit the temple town for taking stock of the situation and meet the injured. He has directed that no protocol formalities be observed on his arrival in Kerala and focus remains on relief and rescue operations in Kollam. Mr. Modi said a team of doctors including burn specialists will accompany to Kerala.<br/><br/>Expressing deep anguish and shock over the disaster, Mr. Modi directed the Indian Air Force to ferry the injured to<br/>hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram for treatment.<br/><br/>Prime Minister spoke to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy about the accident and asked him to arrange immediate shifting of those critically injured via helicopter. Mr. Modi has asked Health Minister J P Nadda to immediately reach the site of the fire tragedy.
