Kolkata Test; Poor light spoils India's quest for levelling the series

Scattered rains and poor light played spoilsport to India's quest for levelling the two-Test Cricket series against South Africa to retain its Number One Test status as the match was called off with the tourists tottering at 115 for three in their second knock on the fourth day of the final Test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata today.South Africa is still trailing by 232 runs with a complete day to spare. Hashim Amla was batting on 49 and Ashwel Prince yet to open his account when the stumps were drawn. Spinners Amit Misra and Harbhajan Singh struck early, scalping two and one respectively, but bad light and rain curtailed the play. The play began nearly 93 minutes late from the scheduled start when the visitors resumed their overnight score at six without loss.Brief Score: South Africa 296 and 115 for 3; India 643 for six declared.
