The Kolkata Police has decided to open a cyber crime police station to control cyber crimes in and around the city. Commissioner of Police Gautam Mohan Chakraborty said only cases of cyber crimes will be registered in the new police station. Only Bangalore has such a police station so far. He said, for cyber crimes help from Information Technology experts will be taken. A website www.kolkatapolicecybercampaigning.net has been opened to make Kolkatans aware of web and net crimes. The Police Commissioner said that through this cyber site, information of such cases will be imparted to victims and users of cyber cafes and individual net users.
