The maoist leader Venkateshwar Reddy alias Telugu Deepak arrested by the Kolkata police could not be produced in the court today due to ill health. He is the second in command to the maoist leader Kishanji. He was arrested late last evening from the Surshuna bus stand in Kolkata.<br/><br/>The Additional Director General of Police (CID) Raj Kanojia said, Deepak is suspected to be involved in several maoist attacks in Lalgarh, Khejuri, West Midnapore and Nandigram in the state for the last 10 years. He is one of the prime accused in the last month's attack on the Silda police camp in which 24 jawans of the Eastern Frontier Rifles were killed.<br/>
