Kolkata Knight Riders beat defending champion Chennai Super Kings by five wickets to lift their maiden IPL cricket title. Riding on a brilliant match winning knock by opener Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis, the Kolkata team crushed Chennai franchisee in a nerve-wracking final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai Sunday night. Chasing a stiff target of 191, little known Bisla played the most defining innings of his life as he smashed the Chennai bowlers to all corners to notch up 89 off only 48 balls ably supported by Jacques Kallis 69 off 49 balls.Earlier, Chennai Super Kings made a commendable 190 for three with Suresh Raina and and Mike Hussey being their main scorers.Jubilant Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir said that it was about completing a mission they had embarked upon when the tournament started 54 days back.
