In Tamil Nadu, even as the work at the Kudankulam nuclear power project site has resumed in full swing, the fast led by Mr. Udaykumar, convener of the anti-kudankulam agitation continues at Idinthakarai in Tirunelveli district. People from Idinthakarai and neighboring areas have joined the protest. In the meantime, the district administration has ensured availability of essential commodities in the area. However, officials say the road blockades created by the protestors remained on the roada.AIR correspondent reports that withdrawal of police personnel from vantage points and reduction in their strength have eased tension in and around Kudankulam.Meanwhile, MDMK General Secretary Mr. Vaiko held a demonstration at Palayamkotai in Tirunelveli district in support of the anti – kudankulam agitation. Mr. Vaiko along with his supporters were arrested by the police when they attempted to take out a rally to Kundankulam.
