In Assam, the extremist outfit Karbi Longri North Cachar Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF) has declared unilateral cease-fire for a period of three months beginning on Tuesday in the greater interest of peace, progress and development of hill district. Announcing this, the outfit’s self-styled publicity secretary, Rejek Dera said that they were eager for a permanent political solution to the problem of Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hill Districts.<br/><br/>AIR Silchar correspondent reports, this is for the second time the outfit has declared a ceasefire. It had announced in August last that it would strike at members of the Hindi speaking community living within its area of influence and is fighting for a separate homeland for Karbis living in Karbi Anglong and parts of North Cachar Hill<br/>
