New Zealand have stormed into the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup. In the third quarter-final of the tournament at Mirpur in Bangladesh last night, the Kiwis knocked out strong contenders South Africa with a stunning 49-run victory. Chasing a modest 222 to win, South Africa were all out for 172 runs in 43.2 overs. Earlier, the Proteas restricted the Kiwis to 221 for eight in their 50 overs. Kiwi bowler Jacob Oram who claimed four wickets for 39 runs was declared Man of the Match. The coveted trophy has again eluded South Africa who have now failed to win a match in the knockout stage of the tournament for the fifth time in a row.
