Kissan Union demands immediately withdrawal of future trading

Kissan Union President Chaudhary Mahender Singh Tikat demanded government to immediately withdraw the provisions of future trading. He reiterated the union's long standing demand of reducing the interest rate on agricultural loans to 4 per cent and crop insurance to compensate farmers in case of natural calamity.<br/><br/>Leaders of the various farmer unions termed the budget for the financial year 2010 – 2011 as " Pro – corporate and Anti – Farmer" and demanded a Direct Income Support system for small, marginal and landless farmers.<br/><br/>They also asked government to Implement Swaminanthan Committee Recommendation for minimum support prices. ICCFM has also prepared a thirteen point demand document to put in front of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan for consideration.<br/>
