The Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee said that it is for the government to decide on the reported statement by Maoist leader Kishanjee calling for a three month ceasefire by both sides.Miss Banerjee said that she has seen only the media report on the statement. She said, if the Maoists respond to President and Prime Minister's appeal it is good for the country. The Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwary said that Mamata Banerjee has not said anything different from the Home Minister's stated position that they should give up arms before talks with the government.
