Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has criticised Pakistan for releasing a doctored video of an arrested ex-Indian Navy officer purportedly confessing his involvement in terror activities in Balochistan. Mr Rijiju told reporters in New Delhi that the neighbouring country is cooking up stories to defame India. He also said, the Pakistan's allegations will have no impact on international platforms.

The ex- Navy official was arrested recently in Pakistan, which described him as an officer of the Indian Navy, a claim debunked by the Indian government which said he had no link with the Government since his premature retirement from the Navy.

Yesterday, the External Affairs Ministry had also rejected the video and categorically denied the allegations of Pakistan that former Indian Naval officer was involved in subversive activities. The Ministry said, the enquiries reveal that the retired Naval Officer is apparently being harassed while operating a legitimate business from Iran.
