Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Friday rejected a charge that the Centre is imposing Hindi in States where it is not spoken. <br/><br/>Intervening in the Rajya Sabha during the private members' business, he said Hindi is an official language and not the national language. A committee is examining whether 38 languages spoken in different parts of the country deserve inclusion in the eighth schedule of the Constitution, he added.
