Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today laid the foundation stone of the National Institute of Disaster Management in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rijiju said, the role of NIDM has become more crucial in the wake of country's vulnerability to natural disasters. He said that NIDM has come a long way due to its hard work and also expressed the hope that it will reach newer heights in the future. <br/><br/>On the occasion, Member Secretary of NDMA, R. K. Jain suggested that National Institute of Disaster Management should focus more on training and capacity building of communities and also partner with private agencies to increase its reach.
