The Delhi Movelo Cyclothon organised by NITI Aayog was flagged off by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju at India gate on Sunday morning. Despite rain, the event saw huge participation by cycle enthusiasts, crossing the expected registration of five hundred cyclists from the city.<br />''<br />'' Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rijiju said, a world class city has to be safe and friendly for cycling. He said, it will help India in peddling towards a better future. <br />'' The nine-km Cyclothon aims to create awareness about future of transportation and evolving technologies in the sector. <br />''<br />'' NITI AAYOG CEO, Amitabh Kant said, mobility is important for India and there is no better mobility than bicycle for both rural and urban areas. He said, cycling is the way to go for a healthier life and a less polluting city. <br />''<br />'' The initiative mainly focuses on urban areas to curb congestion and vehicular pollution. In the context of the same, MOVE Summit will held on 7th and 8th September, which will include stakeholders to be engaged towards building a public interest framework for the global mobility agenda.
