A Kiran trainer aircraft from Indian Airforce Station Tambaram crashed in the outskirts of Chennai on Tuesday.

A defence press release said that the incident happened when the aircraft was on routine training sortie.

Both the pilots ejected safe. A court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
