Government has decided to give compensation of five lakh rupees to the kin of 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims.PTI quoting government sources has said that this compensation will be in addition to the compensations given by government and other agencies so far.

The compensation will be given at the earliest and will cost 166 crore rupees to exchequer. 3,325 people were killed in the anti-Sikh riots following assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on 31st October, 1984.

Many Sikh organisations had given representation to Modi government in the last three months for additional compensation.
