The Bihar Government on Tuesday transferred Gopalganj District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar Pal and jail IG Ramesh Lal. Pankaj Kumar has been made new district Magistrate and Anand Kishore has been appointed as a new jail IG. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the action has been taken in the wake of killing of a doctor inside Gopalganj jail by the inmates. The state Home Secretary has submitted his report to the Chief Minister on the incident. Chief Minister has announced an ex-gratia of ten lakh rupees to the family of Dr. B.D. Singh. Mr. Nitish Kumar also announced that the doctor's family will be given full salary till the date of his retirement.
