In Badminton, Indian shuttler and world number 7 Kidambi Srikanth entered the quarter-final of the  Malaysia Open in men's singles today. 

He defeated 15th seeded Chinese Taipei's Wang Tzu Wei  22-20, 21-12 in the pre-quarterfinals. Later today, P.V.Sindhu will take on Malaysia's Ying Ying Lee in women's singles pre-quarterfinal. 

Earlier in the day, Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal crashed out of the Malaysia Open after a loss to world No 2 Akane Yamaguchi. Former world number one Saina made the 2nd round exit after suffering a 15-21, 13-21 loss as the match ended in 36 minutes.
