Srihari Natraj of Karnataka today grabbed the gold medal in 100-metre Backstroke category in swimming, on day four of the Khelo India School Games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. In Boys high jump, Delhi's Shahnawaz Khan won the gold medal. Ikram Ali Khan of Madhya Pradesh clinched gold in Boys Discus Throw. In Girls 800-metre running, Maharashtra's Tai Bamhane grabbed the gold medal. In Boys category, Anu Kumar of Uttarakhand came first. Yesterday saw a total of 17 gold medals with nine in the pool, seven on the track and one in wrestling. While Karnataka ruled the pool, it was an even distribution in athletics, where Haryana won two gold and Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala and Tamil Nadu won one each. In the week-long Under-17 event, athletes are participating across 16 disciplines of Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.
