Maharashtra players dominated the Khelo India Youth Games for fifth consecutive day yesterday at Pune. They bagged medals in athletics, judo, wrestling and weightlifting.
However, in Hockey matches played in Mumbai, Maharashtra's challenge was over. In athletics Maharashtra and Bengal dominated in under 21 category.
Haryana dominated wresting with 5 golds. In weightlifting Manipur joined Maharashtra in lifting the honours while in swimming and Judo it was Delhi's day.
Earlier in the hockey matches played at Mumbai, Haryana and Odisha joined Punjab and Uttar Pradesh in Under-21 men's semi-finals.
The day ended with Maharashtra at the top of the tally with 91 medals; 32 gold, 24 silver and 35 bronze. Delhi followed with 24 golds while Haryana maintained third position with 18 golds.
