Kharif sown area is 17 lakh hectares higher in this season so far. An official release issued by Agriculture Ministry showed that the kharif sown area has reached to around 1037 lakh hectares as compared to 1020 lakh hectares last year.According to data, sowing of pulses has increased by 13 lakh hectares as compared to the corresponding period last year. The Pulses has been sown in around 115 lakh hectares, Rice in over 337 lakh hectares, oil seed in 185 lakh hectare and cotton in 117 lakh hectare.
