Kharif sowing has crossed more than 182 lakh hectare in the country. As per the latest reports released by the Ministry of Agriculture, rice has been sown in more 45 lakh hectares and pulses of 7.5 lakh hectares. Coarse cereals have been 28 lakh hectares and oilseeds in 14.50 lakh hectares. According to the report, sugarcane has been planted in 44 lakh hectares and cotton in more than 35 lakh hectares.
