Kharif sown area is 13 lakh 50 thousand hectares higher in this season so far. An official release issued by Agriculture Ministry showed that the kharif sown area has reached to around 1031 lakh hectares as compared to 1017 lakh hectares last year.According to data, the rice has been sown in around 376 lakh hectares, pulses in over 114 lakh hectares and oil seed in 184 lakh hectare and cotton in 116 lakh hectare.
