Kharif crops have been sown in 938 lakh hectare till date as against 929 lakh hectare last year. Data released by the Agriculture Ministry reveals that the Rice has been sown in over 333 lakh hectare which is about 2 lakh hectare more than the last year.<br/><br/>About 101 lakh hectare area have been covered under the cultivation of pulses which is more than 9 lakh hectare of the sown area under the crop last year. The coarse cereals is in over 167 lakh hectare and oilseeds in 168 lakh hectare and cotton in 110 lakh hectare.
