Union Labour and Employment Guarantee Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge urged the State Government to provide necessary infrastructure to avail Central Government schemes. Laying the foundation stone for a Nursing College and an auditorium in Bangalore on Friday, the minister pointed out that 200 crore rupees has been earmarked for Multi skill Development Centre in Bangalore and Gulbarga but the State is not providing necessary land for the same. Noting that State Government is a bridge between Central Government and the people, he asked the Chief Minister of Karnataka to accelerate the process to avail the benefits of Central Government funds which will lapse at the end of financial year if unused. He further informed that Central Government provides 87.5% of funds to run ESI hospitals but State should fill up the post of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff by enhancing their pay packages. Otherwise he said the funds provided by the Centre will remain unproductive. The Union Labour Minister said that a proposal to include push cart traders into the gambit of Rashtrya Swasthya Beema Yojana will come up before the cabinet shortly. This will provide insurance cover of upto 30,000 rupees to the family of the insured persons doing petty business. The Labour Minister in the State Bache Gowda lauded the efforts of Union Labour Minister in providing necessary health facilities to the State and assured him of allocating suitable land for Hospitals and Skill development Centres.
