Opposition and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has warned the Awami League led government to return to the path of democracy or face the consequences that will not be good. <br/><br/>Addressing a four hour mass sit in programme of party workers in Dhaka today against the alleged interference of the government in the functioning of the Judiciary she said the government must come back to the right path if it wants to complete its full term in office.<br/><br/>The opposition leader has claimed that ever since the ruling Awami League came to power in January 2009, her party supporter’s are suffering at the government's hands. She said that her party will not tolerate any more of the of the government's oppression and repression and will strike back. She urged the Election commission to ensure free and fair voting in the upcoming Chittagong city Corporation polls or her party will start a mass movement from the polling day. <br/><br/>Khaleda Zia also demanded the re-opening of the Bengali daily newspaper Amar Desh, and the release of its acting editor Mahmudur Rahman. <br/><br/>Mr. Mahmudur Rahman who had been advisor to the Former Prime minister Khaleda Zia and the editor of the Pro-BNP daily has been booked on charges of sedition, supporting militancy and committing fraud.<br/>
