Key domestic stocks settle at nearly 1 month low in business week ended yesterday

Key domestic stocks settled at nearly one month lows in the business week ended yesterday. Resurgence of Coronavirus cases worldwide and uncertainty about the fresh US fiscal relief dented investor sentiment. Benchmark equity indices remained down throughout the week.

During the week, the BSE Sensex closed below 40,000 mark while the NSE Nifty settled below 11,700 mark. The Sensex tumbled 1,071 points or 2.63 per cent to settle at 39,614. The Nifty also plunged 288 points or 2.41 per cent to settle at 11,642.

Broader markets at BSE also fell but outperformed the Sensex. The BSE Mid-Cap index fell 71 or 0.48 per cent to settle at 14,905. The BSE Small-Cap index declined 247 points or 1.63 per cent to settle at 14,888.
