Benchmark stock indices ended flat in a volatile trade on Friday amid selling in IT and select banking shares. The Sensex slipped 15 points to close at 73,142 and Nifty was down five points to finish at 22,213.

In the forex market, the Indian rupee today ended at 82 rupees and 95 paise against the US dollar.

Gold prices, at Multi Commodity Exchange for April contracts, were trading at 62,105 rupees per 10 gram. Silver prices were trading at 70,130 rupees per kilogram for March contracts when reports last came in.
