Keshubhai Patel to form third front against Modi in Gujarat

Senior BJP leader Mr. Keshubhai Patel is likely to form a new political front against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled by the year-end.

The dissident group of the ruling BJP had met at Patel's residence in Gandhinagar last evening and declared that they would make a “big announcement” in the last week of July on their future course of action.

Senior dissident leaders participated in the meeting have indicated that Keshubhai Patel has decided to form a third front in the state, which will challenge the rule of the Modi government.

After the meeting, former Chief Minister Mr.Suresh Mehta told reporters that Keshubhai and other prominent leader Kashiram Rana have not renewed their primary membership of BJP.

Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that Keshubhai Patel, who was removed from the Chief Minister’s post unceremoniously in 2001 has openly criticized Narendra Modi in the recent past.
