<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala's Malappuram district is reporting spike in measles cases as the infection is spreading rapidly in Kalpakanchery and nearby areas. The State Health Department has stepped up vigilance as around 100 people have already been confirmed to be infected.  The area is witnessing an increasing incidence of measles in children, especially in unvaccinated children. Children above the age of 10 have also been diagnosed with measles infection. The District Medical Officer has assured that preventive measures have been intensified in the district in the event of  spread of the disease.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile a Central team will visit the areas in Malappuram where measles has been reported . The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has appointed a three-member high-level team to assess the situation. </span><br />
