Kerala government has decided to set up a special Internal Security Investigation Branch to tackle the growing threat of terrorism and challenge to internal security. <br/><br/>This was disclosed by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan after the state cabinet meeting at Thiruvananthapuram. Concerned by fast escalating terrorists incidents, the state legislative assembly had unanimously decided to suppress terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.<br/><br/>It seems for the first time in Kerala both the ruling LDF and opposition UDF has come together to face the growing menace of terrorism and related crimes. Kerala Chief Minister said that the special branch to be set under senior IPS officials will address the issue and get rid of terrorism. <br/><br/>The other day large quantity of arms and ammunition was unearthed from raids held in different offices of Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Front of India. <br/><br/>Recently Kerala has witnessed a spate of terrorist incidents including attempt to sabotage passenger trains. A few of such cases are being probed by the National Investigation Agency.
