The Kerala Industries Minister Mr. Elamaram Kareem says the state government is planning to set up an industrial hi-tech corridor between Kochi and Coimbatore and develop large industry centres in less populated areas. <br/>He said the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation [KSIDC] has been entrusted to conduct a study on the project, for which five crore rupees have been allocated. He said the project also envisages the setting up of an exclusive rail corridor for the movement of containers and goods between Kochi and Coimbatore. <br/>Mr. Kareem was laying the foundation stone for a Container Freight Station, being set up jointly by the Kerala State Industrial Enterprises in association with Travancore-Cochin Chemicals at Kalamassery this evening. <br/>He said the Delhi Metro Corporation will soon begin a feasibility study for setting up a high speed rail corridor between Kasargod and Thiruvananthapuram. <br/>The Minister claimed that the better performance by public sector undertakings in the state has sent out the message that the investment climate in Kerala has considerably improved. <br/>
