Kerala government has decided to reintroduce an ordinance that prevents defection in local self governing insitutions. After the cabinet meeting Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said at Thiruvananthapuram that it is in line with the anti-defection law applicable to legislatures and the parliament. He said that the previous LDF government of the state did not make the ordinance of 2005 into law. In another noteworthy move the cabinet decided to draft a new legislation that makes services a right to public. Chief Minister said that the law will be evolved on the pattern of RTI. The state government also decided to form Minority Development Finance Corporation.
