The Finance Minister of Kerala Dr. Thomas Issac has presented the state budget for 2010-2011 today that focuses on development of infrastructure facilities by starting mega projects. The budget does not impose additional tax burden on the people. The state budge for the next fiscal provides for supply of ration food grains to 35 lakh families at two rupees per kilogram. An amount of 500 crores has been earmarked for this. The budget also proposes to start eight new public sector units and starting of employment guarantee schemes in urban areas as well. Budget outlay for education sector has been doubled. However, the Congress led opposition has severely criticised the budget as unimaginative and anti-people.<br/>
