<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala Government has decided to impose total lockdown on the next two Sundays, to slow down accelerated pace of the third wave of Covid-19 infections. Only essential services will be allowed. Curbs have also been imposed on the number of persons attending public gatherings and ceremonies. Health Department has issued special advisories to the general public on Covid appropriate behaviour and preventive measures. Online classes have been partially introduced in school education from today. In colleges, regular classes will be allowed only for final year degree and post-graduate students. Districts will be classified into three categories based on the magnitude of the pandemic spread, and Collectors have been authorized to clamp suitable restrictions. However, the State will not resort to complete lockdown or night curfew. Business establishments, malls, theme parks, and tourist spots will be allowed to function.</span><br />
