<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala reported the highest single day surge in Covid cases so far, as it confirms 1298 new cases today. AIR correspondent reports, the State Health department informed in the official release that among the new cases an alarming 1017 persons contracted the virus through local transmission. 800 recoveries were also reported today. The total active Covid cases in Kerala rose to 11983.  The death toll in State due to Covid  reached  97 as three more deaths were confirmed today. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile as  heavy rain continues in major parts of the State, wide spread damage is being reported across Kerala .High is issued in landslide prone areas, low lying regions and coastal areas of the State. As Met dept predicts heavy rain to continue till Sunday in Kerala, special teams of National Disaster Response Force has reached  the State. </span><br />
