<span style="color: #222222;">Kerala reported 28,481 new COVID cases on Tuesday and the daily test positivity rate in the state has crossed 35 percent. Thiruvananthapuram recorded a huge spike with 6,911 fresh cases. Triggering panic, the test positivity rate of the capital district rose to 47.8 percent. A total of 80,740 samples were tested in the state for the last 24 hours. 39 deaths were reported during this period and the Covid death toll in the state has reached 51,026. There were 7303 recoveries reported today and the active caseload in the state is 1,42,512. The state has also recorded 63 new Omicron cases today. As Kerala continues to witness an unprecedented hike in daily cases, stricter restrictions are being implemented across the state.</span><br />
