Wednesday is the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers for next month's assembly poll in Kerala. As of now 1185 candidates including independents are in the fray to contest for 140 member assembly. Second stage campaign will pick up momentum as election conventions will be over in several constituencies in a day or two. Senior BJP leader and leader of opposition party in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj will be reaching Thiruvananthapuram on Friday for election campaign. Other senior BJP and Congress leaders will also be in Kerala in coming weeks.
