In Kerala, the marathon meeting of CPIM State Secretariat to finalise the list of candidates for the next month's assembly elections concluded on Wednesday. Reliable party sources indicate that Chief Minister Mr.V.S. Achuthanandan is unlikely to contest the elections. However, the final decision will be announced in a day or two along with the list of candidates of the party. The high level meeting which started this morning was attended by CPIM General Secretary Prakash Karat, politoburo members and other leaders of the party from the state.
