In Kerala, seventy nine nomination papers were filed on Wednesday for next month's assembly election. Chief Minister V S Achuthandandan contesting from Malampuzha in Palakkad will be submitting nomination paper on Thursday. Saturday is the last day for submission of nominations papers for the April 13th poll. Scrutiny will be done on 28th and 30th of this month is the last day for withdrawal of nominations. Kick starting poll campaign, opposition leader Oommen Chandy has inaugurated election convention of KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala at Haripad in Alappuzha district today. Meanwhile, Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai has made it clear that he is not contesting the poll. Pillai is presently undergoing imprisonment at Poojappura central jail in Edamalayar on a graft case.
