Kerala police seize weapons, documents from Italian vessel

In Kerala, the weapons and other materials seized from the Italian vessel Enrica Lexie have been taken to Kollam this morning, where they were produced before a magistrate's court.

The weapons, stored in four sealed boxes were seized in connection with the killing of two fishermen by Italian marines off Neendakara coast on the 15th of this month.

The boxes containing the weapons will later be taken to the Forensic Laboratory at the state capital Thiruvananthpuram. It may be recalled that the weapons were seized after a 15 hour search operation on board the vessel on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Cochin Port Trust sources said Enrica Lexie has been moved out of the harbour this morning for outer anchorage, to accommodate other waiting vessels.
