In Kerala, former state Electricity Minister Mr. R. Balakrishna Pillai surrendered before the special court dealing with the Idamalayar case in Kochi this morning. Another accused in the case P K Sajeevan, a close associate of Mr. Pillai also surrendered before the court. Both appealed that they be sent to Poojappura central jail in Thiruvanathapuram as they were suffering from several ailments. The second accused in the case Ramabhadran Nair did not appear before the court. The court will pronounce the verdict from a short while from now. It may be recalled that the special court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants against trio last Wednesday.
