Kerala makes seven-day home quarantine compulsory for all passengers arriving from foreign countries. The RT-PCR test will be conducted on the eighth day. Passengers arriving from foreign countries will be categorized into people coming from high-risk and low-risk countries and then the RT-PCR tests will be conducted. The State Health Minister Veena George stated that the home quarantine rules in the state would be tightened as per the central guidelines.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, 25 news of omicron infection is confirmed in the State taking the total tally of cases to 305. Kerala also witnessed a surge in covid figures as it confirmed 5,296 fresh COVID-19 positive cases today. The test positivity rate has also increased to 8.20 percent. 35 deaths were also confirmed due to COVID today, taking the total death toll to 49,305. Bringing respite, 2,404 recoveries were also reported today. At present, 27,859 is the active Covid caseload in the state.</span><br />
