In Kerala, the death toll in LPG tanker explosion near Chala in Kannur district has risen to 17 with three more persons succumbing to burn injuries on Sunday. Five persons are still in various hospitals in critical situation. The accident took place on last Tuesday causing injuries to about 40 people. Fifeteen houses and about 35 shops in the area were destroyed in the fire. A number of vehicles also were gutted in the accident.
