Kerala: IMD predicts isolated heavy rain and thunderstorms to continue for next five days

<span style="color: #222222;">In Kerala, isolated heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms will continue for the next five days.<br />'' <br />'' In a special bulletin, the  Met Department has forecast a cyclone over Kerala by tomorrow evening under the impact of a storm brewing in the Bay of Bengal.  <br />'' <br />'' If the weather system intensifies into a cyclone, it will be called ASANI,  which is a Sinhalese word for wrath.  According to the IMD, a similar weather event in March last had fizzled out before it could acquire the strength of a cyclone.<br />'' <br />''Reports also say that Kerala is set to enjoy a normal South-West monsoon this year as per the initial estimates of IMD.  Northern Kerala may witness a stormy monsoon this time, unlike last year when it rained heavily in southern parts.</span>
