Kerala Home Minister: Decision on arresting M.M.Mani to be taken after probe completes

Kerala Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said that a decision on arresting CPIM Idukki District Secretary M.M.Mani will be taken only after the local police completes the probe in the matter.He told newspersons in Kottayam that the State Government will not show any undue haste in the matter. The Home Minister commented that CPIM leaders controversial disclosures at a party meeting last Friday tantamounts to accepting the crime.He said the Government has the responsibility to protect the life and property of the citizens.The Minister added that the Government will follow the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court,for investigating old cases.Meanwhile,Thodupuzha local police has registered a case against M.M.Mani for attempt to murder,criminal conspiracy and deliberately covering up the conspiracy under IPC 302,109 and 118.The case has been registered as directed by Idukki District Police Chief George Varghese.
