The Kerala Government has decided to seize BPL ration cards retained by undeserving persons including state government employees. Food and civil supplies minister Shibu Baby John said in Thiruvananthapuram that based on the ultimatum given by the state government, recently eight thousand such BPL cards have been surrendered in a month. He said that the direction has been given to cancel sixteen thousand such cards. A recent survey has shown that about twenty five thousand undeserving persons are holding BPL cards in Kerala.
