Kerala Government has decided to include physical education in the school curriculum. The new scheme, the first of its kind in the country, will be formally launched by Kerala Chief Minister Mr V S Achuthanandhan on November 14th, Children's Day. Former captain of Indian Cricket team Mr Sreekant will be attending the function. Addressing the media at Thiruvanathapuram Kerala Education Minister M A Baby said that the programme is aimed at enhancing physical fitness of students from class one to twelve. Kerala Government has also issued directions to all schools not to use playgrounds for any construction work. Services of eminent sports personalities from across the state will be utilized to make the programme a success.
