Kerala Government will make new appointment of 4971 health workers in the wake of growing number of medical personnel getting infected in the third wave of pandemic in the State. Five hundred six health workers tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24 hours.<br />''  <br />'' Given this information, Health Minister Veena George said, 57% of ICU beds and 86% of ventilators are vacant in the State and there is no need to panic. Those aged between 20 and 30 are infected more in the current Omicron variant-driven wave, the Minister added.<br />'' <br />'' Yesterday, Kerala's daily caseload surged to 55 thousand 475 with Test Positivity Rate touching an all-time high of 49.4%. Thirty thousand 226 persons were recovered.<br />'' <br />''Besides 70 new Covid deaths, health authorities also registered 84 deaths that are considered as Covid-19 deaths based on revised rules. The State's active cases have risen to two lakh 85 thousand 365.
