Kerala Chief Minister Mr V S Achuthanandhan has ordered a judicial enquiry into the boat tragedy that killed 37 people at Thekkady yesterday. He said that a sitting judge of the High Court will be probing the accident.The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance of five lakh rupees each to the relatives of those who perished in the tragedy. Meanwhile, the post mortem of all the 41 victims whose bodies were recovered from the Thekkady lake have been completed. The bodies of the victims hailing from Tamil Nadu have been dispatched to that state by road. The rest of the bodies have been sent to Kochi for embalming. Arrangements have also been made separately for sending the body of four year old Sai Manasi to Hyderabad by a private airliner later this evening. Search operations have been called off at the Thekkady lake following inclement weather. The search operations will resume tomorrow. Kerala Chief Minister Mr V S Achuthanandan told media persons in Kochi that all efforts are being made to send the victims bodies to the respective states tonight itself. He said the states government has approached the centre for a defence aircraft for this purpose.
